With the grill's cooking grates in place, carefully place the griddle on the grill

Cooking

  • Light the grill, following manufacturers recommendations
  • With the grill's cooking grates in place, carefully place the griddle on the grill
  • Allow the griddle to preheat (if you splash water drops on the surface and it sizzles vigorously, it's ready)
  • Spray or drizzle cooking oil on the surface to create a low-stick cooking surface
  • Cook your ______________ (fill in the blank)

Cleaning

CAUTION - To avoid injury, use alternate method if grease such as bacon drippings or excess cooking oil is present in the trough.

  • While the griddle is still hot, pour approximately one quarter cup of water on the griddle surface (this will loosen most of the cooking residue)
  • Use a wide scraper to quickly move the loosened residue to the grease trough (use alternate method if grease is present in the trough)
  • If necessary, pour a little more water on the griddle surface and break remaining residue loose with a griddle scrubber
  • Once again, use a wide scraper to move all remaining residue to the trough
  • Use the scraper with a handful of paper towels to carefully clean out the grease trough

Cleaning - Alternate Method

CAUTION - To avoid injury, use this method if grease such as bacon drippings or excess cooking oil is present in the trough.

  • While the griddle is still hot, spray or drizzle cooking oil on the griddle surface
  • Use a wide scraper to quickly move the loosened residue to the grease trough
  • If necessary, spray or drizzle a little more cooking oil on the griddle surface and break remaining residue loose with a griddle scrubber
  • Once again, use a wide scraper to move all remaining residue to the trough
  • Use the scraper with a handful of paper towels to carefully clean out the grease trough (If there is a large quantity of grease in the trough, allow the griddle to cool down. Then carefully pick up the griddle and dump the grease in a coffee can or other container for disposal)
